Complication

Bruce turned sharply when he heard the faint scuffle from the hallway. He hid the photocopies in his back-bag and ghosted to the door.

A dark-clad man crouched over an unmoving form. Bruce bit back a curse. The break-in had been too easy. They had become careless.

The other looked up. "He was patrolling..."

"And you let yourselves be seen?" The last word was a hiss of displeasure. The other shrank back. His distaste of unnecessary deaths was well-known. Bruce stared him down and considered contingency plans.

"Torch the place," he ordered his teammate. "Make it look like an accident."

Ooh was this from his days training? I mean was this a test when he was under Ducard's tutalage? Either way that was an intense drabble!

Actually it takes a sub-plotfrom the Batman Begins novelization and twists it into AU. In the book Bruce tries to uncover more of Ra's al Ghul and ends up breaking in and photografing an old manuscript that should have been auctioned off. Next day he reads in the newspaper that the building with the manuscript has burnt down.

I'M putting him here in Ducard's retrieval team. Although I think I cut out too much to meet the 100-words-limit. There is not enough context for most readers.
