Supernatural Means

Ra's closed his eyes as the train car started to fall.

Not all of my methods are parlour tricks, Bruce. Some are truly supernatural.

Breathing deeply he willed his concentration to razor sharpness. He growled out the ancient incantation that called his servant to his side. The summoning worked. The ifrit, itself a creature of air and fire, cried in glee as the microwave emitter exploded into a fire storm on impact. But Ra's, eyes shut against the glare, was safe in the spirit's embrace and it bore him away to the safety of his ancient desert home.

Very nice. I'm glad you're doing a 100 challenge, I'm doing it too actually, selfish of me eh?^_^

BTW, if you mean a specific spirit then you should capitalise the word "Ifrit" or it could mean any normal demon.

I'm glad you liked it. I believe your entry was the first mention of those 100 pieces challenges I saw.

BTW, if you mean a specific spirit then you should capitalise the word "Ifrit" or it could mean any normal demon.

I puzzled a few minutes about that matter and I am not certain if or if not. (My mother language just capitalizes all nouns.) The ifrit is the servant spirit but ifrit is a general term, a bit more specific than spirit, but there are a lot of ifrits.

The ifrit is the servant spirit but ifrit is a general term, a bit more specific than spirit, but there are a lot of ifrits.

That's why I asked. An ifriit is basically a fire demon in Arab folklore, but if you're adding "the" to precede it then it means you're thinking about a specific ifriit. There are old and powerful Ifriits with their own special names. Considering it's Ducard who is calling the spirit, it'd make sense for him to be acquainted with a spirit who has served him for centuries. Hence why I asked you if you think you should capitalize it.

But it's up to you^_^

Hee! I take it the novelization goes with the comic books by making him the several centuries old Arab, neo-Malthusian eco-terrorist that he's supposed to be?

The novelization bridges movie and comic-verse. There is a very interesting subplot in the book where Bruce goes on the search for information about Rha's al Ghul and finds working as cat-burglar fun.
